Hello,
My name is Brittany Lightfoot-Benjamin and I would like to welcome you to an exciting new school year at Harding University High School. This year I will be returning to Harding for my second year as a general science teacher. This year I will be teaching Biology, in the past my schedule has also included Earth and Environmental Science.
I am a graduate of the Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with Biology. While at CUA, I devoted much time to developing my skills in a laboratory setting not only inside the classroom but outside the classroom as a laboratory assistant for several National Institutes of Health- funded scientist. Additionally, I received a wealth of leadership training through my work with the Office of Campus Activities( Fall 2011- Spring 2013) and my volunteer work with Alpha Phi Omega( pledged Fall 2009). I have been very fortunate during my academic career and I look to share that knowledge in my classroom.
I began in the classroom in Fall 2013 as a Teach for America corps member. Teach for America is a national teaching corps that strives for educational equality by recruiting and training individuals they believe will be successful in the classroom. TFA works to ensure I am bringing the best possible education to your scholars. This website can be used to find up to date information about different events and assignments happening inside the classroom and at Harding. Please take the time to explore the website and become comfortable with it's features.
I look forward to speaking and working with all of you this school year,
Ms. Lightfoot-Benjamin(L-B) 9-12 Science Teacher at Harding University High School
